Today, the beach is a symbol of Aceh’s resilience and post-tsunami revival, as well as a place that provides valuable lessons about the importance of preserving nature and disaster preparedness.
Around Lampuuk Beach, there is the Rahmatullah Mosque which was a silent witness to the tsunami event. This mosque, which is located about 500 meters from the beach, remains standing strong even though it was hit by very large tsunami waves.
