Location and Access to Ijen Crater
Ijen Crater is located in the Mount Ijen area, which is closer to Banyuwangi than Bondowoso. To get to Ijen Crater from Banyuwangi, you can drive for about 2 to 3 hours, depending on road conditions.
The most common route is via the north or south coast, although many tourists choose the route from Banyuwangi because it is more accessible. Even though the route is relatively close, the journey to Ijen Crater is not always smooth.
